When it comes to keeping you and your baby safe, we don't play around. Which is why your OB physician has the ongoing support of a certified OB/GYN laborist, Lutheran General neonatologists and dedicated OB anesthesiologists — all 100% committed to you and your baby, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Your physician-led team meets twice a day to review your case, three times a day to check your vitals and always asks, "What's best for the patient?" All of these specialists have the technology and expertise to handle normal deliveries, acute-care deliveries and many unexpected birthing needs that might arise. Plus you're in a smaller, more intimate setting with a care team that's worked together for years, so they're more in sync with each other and with you.

Nurses

All of our skilled perinatal nurses are NRP certified, naturally compassionate and dedicated patient advocates. Most have many years of experience caring for mothers and their newborns so they know how to read the subtle signals that could suggest a potential problem. In many ways, they are the backbone of everything we do. Quite often they're one of the reasons people choose to deliver with us.

Laborist

As part of your multidisciplinary team, the board-certified laborist is there to ensure that you won't go at it alone should your baby decide to show up unexpectedly. The sole responsibility of these highly skilled OB/GYN specialists is to deliver babies, so they know what they're doing and they're really good at it. The on-site support they provide your OB/GYN means you can breathe easier, even in those less-than-ideal situations.

Anesthesiologist

A dedicated anesthesiologist works closely with your OB/GYN doctor and is on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This highly skilled specialist is there to answer your questions, assess any potential medical concerns and deliver prompt and safe OB anesthesia care to help manage pain, should you want or need it. Their role is to help ensure that you have a safe and successful delivery and recovery.
